Creating and assigning Actions
Manual vs automated Action creation — types, priorities, owners, and due dates.
Creating work
You can create an Action three ways: from + Quick Add, from the + New Action button on Today's Action Queue (or an account), or automatically from a signal rule.
Manually
Both create paths open a New Action form:
- Select the customer and give the Action a Title (both required).
- Set the Type (Risk, Lifecycle, Renewal, Expansion, Activity), an optional Reason that narrows to the type, a Priority (Critical / High / Medium / Low), a Due date, and an Owner (defaults to you).
- Optionally attach a Playbook to seed the Action with a ready-made task list — you'll see a preview of how many tasks it adds.
- Add a rich-text Description, then Create Action.
The exact fields follow your tenant's form layout (Admin Console → Layouts & Forms → Action Form), so you may see extra custom fields.
Automatically
Signal rules create Actions when conditions are met — this is how risks and renewals appear in your queue without anyone remembering to file them. Owners can resolve to a role (matched to the best actor) rather than a fixed person.
